Grade 6/7/8 Literacy; RTI 5-8 - Mrs. Sullivan

I have been teaching at Brighton for nearly two decades. I completed my undergraduate work at UW Parkside and my graduate degree at Carthage College. I hold licenses in general education for grades one through eight, English for grade nine, and reading.

I feel blessed to work in an environment like Brighton Elementary School, and I enjoy teaching reading/language arts and social studies. My passion is encouraging students to understand that reading, writing, and thinking are not merely tasks required in school, but are skills that can create life long opportunities and experiences for them. Seventh and eighth grade students will experience reading in a workshop model; a workshop model is comprised of several key research-based components including: read aloud, whole/small group instruction, guided practice, and independent reading/writing.
