What Mrs. Hetland Loves About Brighton

Mrs. Hetland thoroughly enjoys teaching at Brighton because of the strong sense of community and the active involvement of supportive families who help make the school such a special place.

In the Classroom

Mrs. Hetland teaches middle school social studies and science, helping students build content knowledge while strengthening critical thinking and problem-solving skills. A graduate of Carthage College, she began her teaching career at Brighton and values preparing students for success in high school and beyond.

Mrs. Hetland hopes her students leave her classroom confident in their knowledge, equipped with essential life skills, and ready for future challenges.

Fun Fact

Mrs. Hetland stays busy traveling with her children and supporting their love of showing pigs. You’ll often find her at local fairs and pig shows in the spring and summer, and she also enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
