What Mr. Tankersley Loves About Brighton

Mr. Tankersley appreciates the way Brighton brings students together across grade levels. He especially values how older students support and encourage younger ones, creating a big brother–big sister atmosphere that strengthens the school community.

In the Classroom

As Physical Education Teacher and Athletic Director for students in 4K–8th grade, Mr. Tankersley focuses on helping students develop skills, confidence, and teamwork through movement and play. His classes encourage participation, cooperation, and an appreciation for staying active at every age.

His Approach

Mr. Tankersley’s goal is for students to discover lifelong enjoyment in physical activity and exercise. He hopes students leave his classes with positive habits that support both their physical and mental well-being.

Fun Fact

When he’s not at school or on the field, Mr. Tankersley loves to spend his time fishing and going on adventures with his mini aussie (Georgia).
