Hello,

Welcome to my page! I am the 4K - 8th grade School Counselor at Brighton Elementary School. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, traveling, going to the lake, and spending time with family and friends. My husband and I also love hanging out with our Golden Retriever, Wren.

Guidance Class Note: We cover many topics in Guidance Class throughout the school year. Topics include identifying and managing emotions, coping/calming skills, mindfulness, building and managing friendships, conflict resolution, empathy and kindness, bully prevention, career exploration, and academic and career planning. The 6th - 8th grade students utilize a program called Xello to engage in a variety of activities focusing on their learning styles, strengths, interests, and career interests. Xello is used statewide for Academic and Career Planning (ACP). In 8th grade, students will present their ACP Portfolio to parents/guardians in the Spring as they wrap up their time at Brighton.

Counseling Note: I meet with students individually and in small groups throughout the school year to support students in a range of social emotional capacities.
